To get admission to Lautech:
1)A student would be expected to attempt and pass the Nigerian University Qualification Examination(UME)-University Matriculation Examination based on a cut off mark set by the examination body.
2)For as many students that have problems passing the UME exam,they could apply for predigree education.This helps them secure their choice course or atleast an alternative course instead being idle at home.
The predigree however is becoming a competitive ground, as many
students apply for it.Hence in the last 3 years,the students have
been made to attempt and pass a simple exam even before they are
admitted into the Pedigree premises at all.The cut off marks in this
case are set by the institution -Lautech and if a student scores atleast this mark,he/she is entitled to offer the course ,he/she chose else given an alternative.
3)A student could gain admission to Lautech through Direct Entry based on a very good performance obtained from his/her previous institution.
A student of such should have atleast an upper credit to have a better
chance of being admitted.
After part from the avenues of being admitted into Lautech, the minimum and basic secondary qualification that entitles to any faculty or department you to apply, are atleast 5 credits which include Mathematics and Use of English.
Note:The college of Medicine would require a student to have atleast
a credit in Biology.
